What is Keller School of Biblical Studies (KSBS)?

The Keller School of Biblical Studies (KSBS) is a certified satellite school of the Sunset International Bible Institute (SIBI) in Lubbock, Texas. SIBI was founded in 1962 by Cline Paden with an initial enrollment of six students. To date, more than 75 classes and 3,000 students have graduated from Sunset (and its satellite and branch schools around the world), which offers both Bachelors and Masters degrees.

Our goal is to train people to be better servants, teachers and leaders where they are! We want to teach the Word of God so that churches and families may be strengthened.

Most classes are presented on DVD and facilitated by a capable Bible teacher. We also now offer our classes via zoom. The lessons will be motivating, interesting and fulfilling as we study the greatest book ever written. We will always pray together and provide opportunities for questions and discussion. Studying with Christian friends making the commitment together is enjoyable and provides more encouragement than just studying alone. The three levels of study make it easily accessible even for those with the most demanding schedules.

Why not commit now to growing spiritually and strengthening your family under the shadow of the Bible? Old familiar passages will suddenly have meanings you’ve never discovered. This could be exactly what you’ve been looking for!

What level is right for me?

A Certificate of Completion is presented at the conclusion of each course when all requirements are met for the student’s participation level.

Level One: Audit

The student who is interested in studying the Bible without earning any formal credit may simply attend (audit) the courses. There is no requirement to take any exams or complete any assignments. You are required to have a study guide and will want to answer the self-exams at the end of each lesson.

Level Two: Certificate of Basic Bible Studies (CBBS)

This level is for those interested in more in-depth study and training. It requires completion of all study guide exercises, memorizing assigned passages, and taking the written exams. Upon completion of the 40 courses, students will receive a “Certificate of Basic Bible Studies” from Sunset.

Level Three: Advanced Certificate of Biblical Studies

The requirements for this certificate are the same as for the Level 3 Bachelors however, the cost is somewhat less. Upon completion of 20 courses, students will receive an “Associate Certificate of Advanced Biblical Studies”. Those completing all 40 courses will receive a “Bachelors Certificate of Advanced Biblical Studies.”

Level Three: Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies

The third level is the most demanding and most rewarding. It involves all the requirements of the second level plus additional assignments such as additional scripture memorization, readings from the course textbooks, and research, theme and evaluation papers. Upon completion of 20 courses, these students will re-ceive an “Associate Bachelor of Biblical Studies.” After completing all 40 courses, students will be awarded a “Bachelors of Biblical Studies” degree..
